What I found out was the bit gives you some leverage over the horses head because it only applies pressure to the lower jaw, not the whole face like a traditional bit does."

"To explain further, try this. Put your hand on the side of your face and push. As you see there is not much discomfort in that just, brute strength. Now put your finger on your lower jaw at the corner of your mouth and push. As you can feel, the pressure is concentrated in one small area and creates some discomfort with less effort on your part. This made my job much easier by not having to expend so much effort while working my colts."

Responding to the Direct Signals

"I have been using horses for 50 years doing ranch work and team roping and this bit has allowed me to continue training colts. I have not had to go to a shanked bit on any of the colts I started with this bit, they just seem to respond to the direct signal it gives much better than from a snaffle with a broken mouth."

"A few other advantages I have noticed, No Cavesson needed, if they open their mouth the signal is still in the same place. I have not had one of them try to put their tongue over the bit or fight it in any way, they seem comfortable with it. On older horses that want to lug on you, this bit changes the pressure points to help correct this without injury to the mouth."
